Damage Prevention and Loading Services
The Damage Prevention and Loading Services team provides testing, research and evaluations focusing on safety and the prevention of damage to freight during rail movement. The group develops loading procedures which serve as industry standards for rail shipments of commodities shipped in both closed and open top equipment. It also supports industry initiatives to improve the transportation of motor vehicles by rail; and evaluates performance and provides training at North American vehicle loading and unloading facilities.
The Damage Prevention and Loading Services group is operated now by Railinc's sister company, the Transportation Technology Center, Inc. (TTCI).
